It appears I've lost my smileys, it's fine to add them manually but the smiley menu has disappeared, here's what I've got now http://xqz3u5drneuzhaeo.onion/users/qicpic/files/vrh.jpg I've hunted high and low for a solution without luck, any help on how to rectify this is much appreciated :)

It seems the forums are acting a little strange today; or else they've been hacked. On most pages I click onto, there are really random images in the middle of posts etc. There was even one on this thread.
To answer your question, I have no idea how to get the smileys back, but if it is any consolation, I don't have them either
Edit: Smileys have been replaced by an image - I think it is Limetless profile picture. Random!

I uploaded a screenshot to illustrate the problem, the smileys are back now :) Must have been a temporary glitch in the system.

I've been noticing people's avatar where the little envelope is supposed to be below your avatar for your email. Anonymousaddict had benjesit? avatar in that spot a few minutes ago.

For a second you scared me. I would hate losing the smiley menu... they make expressing yourself through text a lot easier.

Didn't mean to scare you Moon Fried, I've edited the topic, I agree smileys make expression so much easier, it's back to normal for me at the moment. I'll leave this thread up just in case anyone encounters this problem, there's been other strange goings on today, I've seen a few topics on the SilkRoad discussion board.

I've notice if you have script blocking on for the forum, the smilyes wont work.

Smileys still working fine for me, but something looks a bit off about this posting menu. I think something is missing... or it's just my head messing with me.

Lol Princess! I had that problem with my first installation of Tor…. after a couple of sessions they disappeared and I wasn’t successful getting them back. Subsequent instalments of Tor (security ^dates) all had this feature restored. That’s not much help to you I know – you obviously can’t install a new version every time that happens.
Trying to get some info on this, but there’s a bit to read through.
[Edit. Lol, read through some info but it was for admin not users! Apparently you can reset Karma to zero, and change your username, which I don’t believe you can if you are a regular member. Good perks. Darn. Also, I tried to join their forum but they’re absolutely hopeless. They can’t seem to get their act together on new registrations….. not very promising. Anyway, I’ll chat with you later? Hope you get your smilies back soon!)

Raz, just to clarify. The issue regarding the changing avatars and missing smiley faces etc, etc was caused today by an upgrade to the Simple Machines Forum software from 2.0.2 up to 2.0.3.
The original link I supplied was the correct one Raz. It was linking to the thread page where SSBD had just posted. That's where I noticed his blue stars had been replaced with faces covered in lipstick. The link you have supplied is for the very first page of the same thread, however there are no Mod's on this page to demonstrate my point. Take care. ;)

Sorry 'bout that Wado. All good! About the missing smilie faces though, just a quick q., have you ever encountered that problem before? As in, before today? (Upgrade aside) Someone said AA's avatar was sliced with another avatar pic mashed in. I think that was earlier today as well. (Lol, I took a gander at the Newbie section today and none are too happy about! Oh well, we were all new at one stage, you just get on with it.)

No worries Raz. AnonymousAddict's avatar was no different to anyone else's in that what I saw today when viewing one of his posts was not what another member viewing the same post was seeing!! ??? I was chatting with scout (Mod) about this on a thread when I mentioned to him his stars were gone and replaced with some lipstick wearing smiley faces. He then said I had the avatar, the red one about blood/rugby, under my name although I was looking at my proper avatar. Bewildering!! AA sent me a PM about not being able to upload his avatar back to his forum profile. He sent me the details but I didn't hear from him again so maybe he fixed it himself.
The Newbie's section reminds me of a new Kindergarten/Primary School opening up. The rest of us oldies are still in High School, wondering where all the younger students have disappeared to. Have a look at some of the topics being raised in there. It's starting to be more of a hurry up and post anything so I can hit 50 posts and get the fuck out of here experience. Still needs refining if it is to work effectively, as it's intended to. :)

Same with AA and benjesus or whatever.... they were spliced like that. I just took a look at AA's avatar in a thread and it had thecrackhead's animated third finger on it! I wouldn't hold out on AA getting back to you, at least on a thread.... he kind of comes and goes on threads I noticed. ::)
I don't know where his original pic is, I assumed most people uploaded direct from their HD.
RE the newbie section, the 50 post count may be reduced in time, but crap! Early days! They could make a suggestion constructively but a lot are just beginning to troll and with an attitude like that you will not help your cause. Anyway... they'll get there... Going to my sex thread, then to pay back some K and then pop off. Need to get ^ early 2moz.

The update changed he image directories....an admin needs to go in and reset them back to the specific directories before the patch install.
